Cattle Botulism Prompts Renewed Call for Poultry Litter Solution in Northern Ireland
A Northern Ireland politician has expressed concern about the high levels of botulism in the region, blaming the rise on failures of the Executive to find a solution to the problem of large volumes of poultry manure there. Ulster Unionist Agriculture Spokesperson, Harold McKee MLA, expressed his concern after it was revealed to him by the DAERA Minister that there were 186 confirmed cases of botulism in cattle between 2011 and 2015.

Prices at bumper Global Dairy Trade auction equivalent to 37c/L
Average prices jumped 11.4% at todays Global dairy trade auction. This compares to a merger 1.4% rise at the previous auction on October 18. Today’s auction saw a staggering 19.8% rise in Whole Milk powder prices with the product trading at $3,317/t equivalent to 37c/L, based on Irish constituents.
